#NaPoWriMo day 28

“A prophet is not without honour except in his own town”. First poetry escapade in my home town of Croydon and this is all that’s going around mi old head. Stress. But that’s not why you are here beautiful stranger, your eyes have graced this page for some poetry. So enough rambling, enjoy…

Smile Below Pigeons 

I do not think the cart should go before the horse,
but you should.
So the importance of putting others above yourself,
can be pressed into you fourfold.

Humility is not a painless lesson,
just a good one.

No one likes to think of a pigeon,
flying closer to the stars than they are.
Reaching for the impossible better than them.

After the flailing,
everyone accepts it.
